Man Arrested For Beating His 22-Year-Old Lover To Death In Anambra
A man has been arrested by the Anambra Police Command for beating his girlfriend, one Chidinma Christopher, aged 22 to death.
The suspect identified as Ikenna Asiegbu was said to have assaulted his girlfriend in his house on Saturday, 5 February at Urutolu village, Mgbakwu in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State where she collapsed.
The victim was immediately rushed to a hospital where she was confirmed dead.
It was learnt that the victim had given birth six months ago before the incident occurred.
Confirming the incident, police spokesman, Tochukwu Ikenga ”On Saturday, we received information that the suspect beat and murdered the victim in his house at Mgbakwu. The victim was rescued and rushed to a hospital where she was confirmed dead by a medical doctor on duty.”
”Meanwhile, the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation. Further development shall be communicated please.”
