There was a fire outbreak on Thursday evening, July 20, 2023 at the Port and Cargo Terminal berth 7 and 8 at Tin Can Island port, Lagos. HGS Media Plus gathered.
It was gathered that the fire was caused by a crane which caught on fire and affected a vessel loaded with containers
According to eyewitness report, the fire involved a Liebherr crane and Mv Hapag as a result of a mechanical fault on the Lloyd.
The fire was said to have raged for hours before firemen brought it under control.
No life were lost, however, the management of the Lagos port is yet to give a statement.
