During his acceptance speech for the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award at the Grammys, rapper Jay-Z took the opportunity to express his discontent with the Recording Academy for never awarding his wife, Beyonce, ‘Album of the Year.’
The 54-year-old artist, accompanied by his daughter Blue Ivy, thanked the Academy for the award but urged them to “get it right.”
In his speech, Jay-Z highlighted Beyonce’s historic achievement last year, winning a record 32 trophies, yet never receiving the Album of the Year award.
He emphasized the disparity, stating, “Most Grammys never won Album of the Year, that doesn’t work.”
The rapper candidly addressed the artists, acknowledging that some might feel robbed or not belong in certain categories. Jay-Z concluded by stating, “When I get nervous, I tell the truth,”
