The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Borno State has taken decisive action by suspending four party officials following allegations of the misappropriation of state government palliative funds intended for vulnerable individuals.
Mr. Mustapha Loskuri, the state APC Secretary, disclosed this development in a statement issued on Tuesday in Maiduguri.
According to Loskuri, the suspended officials include Ali Kaka, a state executive; Adam Ajiya, the ward chairman of old Maiduguri; Mala Mohammed, the ward secretary of old Maiduguri; and Usman Bukar, the ward executive of old Maiduguri.
Loskuri clarified that the decision to suspend these officials was made during a meeting of the State Working Committee, in accordance with Article 21 of the party’s Constitution.
He emphasized that the suspension would remain in effect pending the outcome of an investigation by the party’s disciplinary committee.
The allegations of selling state government palliative meant for vulnerable persons have prompted swift action from the APC, demonstrating the party’s commitment to upholding transparency and accountability.
The investigation into the matter displays the party’s determination to address misconduct and maintain the integrity of its leadership structure.
