Young Man Shot By Police Operative In Ughelli
A yet-to-be identified young man was allegedly shot by a police operative at a checkpoint along East-West road in Ughelli.
HGS Media Plus gathered that the the young man was shot in the leg and abdomen.
However, it is yet to be ascertained what conspired between the victim and police operative as at the time of this report.
An eyewitness revealed how the victim was abandoned by the police because they could not start his car, adding that he had to use his car to take him to a hospital in warri after being rejected by other hospital.
“I was the one who drove the car, the police could not drive the car cause they don’t know how to, so they left me and his friend and went on their own leaving the check point I had to leave my car behind in order to save the boy’s life. But no hospital took him, we went to warri”
The spokesperson of the Delta State Police command, DSP Bright Edafe expressed his displeasure and has assured the public that the office involved in the crime has been disarmed and detained.
“This is a very sad event and I want to assure members of the public that the command is not taking this lightly. The inspector who shot has been disarmed and detained while we hope and pray that the young man recovers soon. Justice must be served I assure you all.”
