14 Dead In Mexico Prison Attack, 24 Inmates Escape

Fourteen person have died in a attack at a Mexico prison in the Mexican border city of Juarez.

Government officials said the attack was carried out on New year day, Sunday, January 1, 2023

The Chihuahua state attorney general’s office said in a statement on Monday that 10 security guards and four prisoners were killed and 13 others were injured.

The attack was said to have began around 7 a.m on Sunday when gunmen in armored vehicles arrived at the prison and opened fire on security personnel.

Authorities said inmates took advantage of the situation and 24 prisoners escaped.
