Man Dies After Drinking Nine Bottles Of Local Gin In Plateau State
A man has died after taking nine bottles of locallocally brewed alcoholic drink popularly known as “Ogogoro” in Plateau State.
The incident happened in Bokkos local government area of Plateau State.
It was gathered that the deceased, an indigene of Bokkos asked that the seller of the gin gives him 11 bottles after boasting he would finishit and nothing will happen.
Speaking to The Nation, Hafsat Abubakar of the Conflict Mediation Mitigation Regional Council (CMMRC) said the man succeeded in drinking nine but was unable to finish the remaining two bottles.
Subsequently, the man died after the intake of the gin and the seller immediately took to her heels.
It was learnt that the man was vomiting blood profusely from his nose, ears and mouth before he gave up the ghost.
A hunter identified as Abubakar said he was passing by when he saw the deceased and decided to alert the villagers.
The deceased has been taken for burial. He left behind a wife and five children.
