Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James, popularly called Baba Ijesha, has been sentenced to sixteen years in prison for sexually assaulting 14-year-old girl.
The actor was sentenced on Thursday, July 14 by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court.
The offences contravene Section 135, 137, 261, 202, 262 and 263 of the Lagos State Criminal Law 2015, which stipulates life imprisonment for offenders.
Baba Ijesha was charged with six count defilement which include indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault by penetration and sexual assault by penetration.
The judge discharged and acquitted the actor on two charges due to insufficient evidence by the prosecutor against him.
Baba Ijesha was however sentenced to sixteen years in prison for other count charges.
