12 Rescued As Bus Falls Into Lagos Canal
At least twelve passengers has been rescued from a commercial bus with registration number BDG 963BT that they boarded after it fell into canal.
The incident happened on Sunday evening, July 10 at Cement busstop on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
An eyewitness who blamed the driver for the accident said it was due to his reckless driving.
The victims, seven male and five females sustained injuries and was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.
The permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu who comfirmed the incident said the driver also sustained minor injuries and was attended to at the scene by the paramedics team.
He added that the Agency’s Hiab is being dispatched for the recovery of the commercial bus from the canal.
