A little boy was abandoned on the streets after he was branded a witch in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The little boy was however rescued by a woman from the State Ministry of Justice after a Danish aid worker Anja Ringgren Lovén made alerted the public via her facebook page.
One Benjamin Omin Itu, an optician confirmed on Saturday, June 11, that the child had been rescued. He also condemned the act.
“The abandoned child who was branded witch has been rescued. We fight against child abandonment because it’s a crime.” he said.
