No fewer than fifty (50) person have been killed by unknown gunmen in an attack at St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State.
The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning, June 5, 2022.
According to report, the gunmen stormed into the church and opened fire on the worshippers.
It was gathered that the gunmen also used explosives in the church compound after shooting worshippers resulted to several casualties and others seriously injured.
It was also gathered that some of the injured victim taken to the Federal Medical Centre for medical attention have died resulting to more casualties.
The gunmen were said to have fled the scene after carrying out the killing which left many dead.
Report is believed that a Reverend Father of St Francis Catholic Church was abducted.
Businesses, religious and economic activities in the town is said to have been suspended following the attack.
