At least eleven soldiers have reportedly been killed in an attack by unknown gunmen who stormed military base in Birnin Gwari LGA of Kaduna state.
The attacked happened on Monday night, April 4 at the Polwire village in Kuduna.
It was gathered that the suspects came in large numbers with heavy artillery like rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) and engaged the troops in a heavy gun fight.
Eleven soldiers were reportedly killed while nineteen others were wounded, alongside three armoured personnel carriers (APC) were burnt down in the attack.
It was also gathered that the suspects carted away several weapons from the troops.
The wounded soldiers were evacuated to Birnin Gwari General Hospital and 271 Nigerian Airforce Medical Centre while those who were killed have been evacuated to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Kaduna (44 NARHK) in Kaduna.
