Keke Rider Beaten To Coma For Refusing To Pay Revenue Collector
A keke, (Tricycle) rider was reportedly beaten to coma by a group of touts in Anambra State.
The incident happened on Sunday, March 20 at popular UNIZIK junction in Anambra.
It was gathered that the commercial rider was beaten over his refuser to pay cash to revenue collectors.
This is coming days after the new elected governor, Professor Charles Soludo in his inauguration speech directed that commercial vehicle operators, including tricycle and motorcycles, should no longer pay cash to touts operating in the name of revenue generation across the state.
He said that there was a new system put in place to ensure that people were not unduly taxed.
It was learnt that the touts who were three in number accosted the victim at UNIZIK junction and demanded that he pays N200 fee before commencing the daily business but the rider refused telling them that the new governor had warned people not to pay cash to anybody.
This got the touts pissed and as a result pounced on him until he fell and slipped into a coma.
