A 45-year-old tanker driver identified as Dahiru Aliyu have died in a fuel tanker compartment.
The deceased died on Monday morning in the compartment of a fuel tanker with registration number DKD 411 XF at Hotoro NNPC depot in Kano.
The deceased was said to have died due to suffocation while trying to mop up spilled fuel in the tanker compartment.
Spokesperson of the Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi who confirmed the death said the deceased entered one of the compartments with a container and foam to mop up spilled fuel, but suffocated and died.
