RRS Arrests Cable Vandals In Lagos (Photos)


    Two cable vandals, Tairu Bello age 31, and Bishir Abubakar age 32 in possession of a three rolls of 240mm armored cable has been arrested by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) officers during a night patrol at Maryland in Lagos.

    The vandals were arrested on Friday morning, December 3, at about 5am around Idi – Iroko, close to Anthony Village while they were trying to load the three rolls of 240mm cable into a commercial bus.

    Upon interrogation, the suspects claimed the cables were dug out of the ground at Idi Iroko and they were moving it to Mile-12 from where they intend to transport it to Owode Onirin. The three cables’ length is estimated at over 160 feet.

    Two shovels, 2 diggers, saw blade, hammer and chisel were recovered from the suspects.

    The Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu directed the Commander, CSP Yinka Egbeyemi, of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), to charge the suspects to court.
