At least fiftenn persons has reportedly been burnt to death in a fatal motor accident that happened on Sunday evening, November 28 along Achilafiya to Karkarna road in Yankwashi local Government Area of Jigawa State.
The accident which involved a Golf car with registration number. XA 361 BCH and Golf Wagon with registration number. FST 276 CX caught fire which led to the death of one Bashir Ahmed and other passengers who were burnt on the spot beyond recognition. HGS Media Plus gathered.
It was said that the driver of one of the vehicles was trying to dodge a pothole along the road when he lost control.
One of the drivers, Ashiru Sani and 12 passengers were said to have sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Primary Health Care (PHC) Hospital Karkarna for treatment. Consequently, all the victims died on admission.
Confirming the incident, spokesperson of the State Police Command, ASP Lawan Shisu, said that the two vehicles coming opposing directions had a head-on collision and caught fire leading to death of fifteen persons.
He added that the case was under investigation.
