Five suspected transformer vandals have been arrested by the Niger State Police Command for vandalizing transformers and stealing electric cables, HGS Media Plus gathered.
The suspects identified as Hussaini Adamu, age 23, Mustapha Umar, age 17, Mande Magaji, age 17, Suleiman Zubairu, age 16, and Salisu Usman age 25, all of Kasuwan-Gwari, Minna were arrested on Tuesday, November 2 at Lapai-Gwari area along Building materials market road.
The suspects were said to have vandalized two transformers and made away with the electric cables.
The suspects who confessed to the crime upon interrogation took policemen to arrest One Salisu Usman who was said to have bought the stolen cables from them.
Three insulators and a vandalized electric transformer were recovered from the suspects.
