One Chidi Onyishi, aged 36 has been arrested by the Enugu police for arranging with a pastor, one Okeke Eneokwor aged 95 to allegedly kill his 7-year-old son, Chimdalu Chidi for money ritual. HGS Media Plus learnt.
The suspect who reside at Taylor Avenue, Coal Camp, Enugu and his accomplice who reside at Dental Avenue, Trans-Ekulu killed his son on Wednesday, October 20 near a stream at Abakpa-Nike, Enugu and buried him in a shallow grave.
The suspect was said to have reported the missing son to the police on Friday, October 22.
After thorough investigation, the suspect who was found responsible for his son’s disappearance was said to have confessed to the crime which led to the arrest of his accomplice.
The suspect later led the police to the shallow grave where he had buried his son and the decomposing corpse of the minor was exhumed.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, said the state Commissioner of Police, CP Abubakar Lawal, has ordered the State CID Enugu to conduct a thorough and conclusive investigation that will lead to the prosecution of everyone found culpable in the act.
