Two out of three suspected kidnappers were beaten to stupor by mob after abducting a business man (name withheld) in Benin City, the Edo State Capital. HGS Media Plus gathered.
The suspects identified as Efosa Osawaru and David Ayobami, were caught and beaten to stupor by angry mob in what appears to be kidnapping gone wrong.
The incident was said to have happened on Saturday, November 6 at Ugbowo area of Benin City, Edo State.
It was said that the suspects stormed a house at Ugbowo were the victim lives and intercepted him while driving out of his compound.
The suspects then forced the victim into the booth of his car (Toyota Corolla), shooting sporadically before driving off with the victim.
Unfortunately for the suspects, they were held in traffic while they trying to get away and subsequently the victim forced the car booth open, jumped out and shouted for help.
Immediately, mob apprehended the suspects and descended on them mercilessly before handing them to the police.
One of the suspects was said to escaped when mob attacked them.
Confirming the incident, spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Bello Kontongs, said the two suspects were beaten to stupor before they were brought in to the police. He added that efforts is being made to apprehend the escaped suspect.
