Operatives of the Kogi State Police Command has recovered guns, charms, and ammunitions from one Umaru Mahammed, age 25, a suspected kidnapper, HGS Media Plus reports.
The suspect was arrested on Wednesday, November 3 by operatives attached to Isanlu Area Command, Kogi State while on a stop and search operation along Irunda-Isanlu.
The suspect and his gang members was said to have been responsible for multiple robbery, kidnapping going on in Isanlu area.
The operation which was led by ASP Ahmed Salihu took place after a call was made across to them that some suspected criminal were seen around Isanlu.
ASP Ahmed Salihu and his operatives who sung into action trailed the suspects to Koro Village a boundary between Kogi and Kwara States where Umaru Muhammed was arrested, while members of his gang escaped.
A locally made gun using AK-47 rifle live ammunition, two AK-47 live ammunition, one single pump action barrel gun, one machete, and dangerous local charms were recovered from the suspect.
Confirming the arrested, spokesperson of the command, DSP William Aya , said the suspect confessed to the crime and will be arraigned in court after investigation.
