A mother of two has been arrested by the Osun State Police for throwing her two children into a well in Osogbo, the State Capital, HGS Media Plus gathered.
It was gathered that the suspect who is identified as Omowumi had just returned from Oman in Arabian Peninsula.
The incident happened in Ibuaje area of the State where the suspect was said to have told her two daughters, Darasimi, age 8 and Nimisire, age 5 to follow her to the well. On getting there, the woman grabbed them and threw them into the well.
It was said that the woman has been frustrated and mentally unwell since her return from Oman which consequently made her to take the action she did.
The spokesman of the state fire service, Ibrahim Adekunle, who confirmed the incident said that efforts are being made to rescue the children out of the well.
Also confirming the incident, Police spokesperson Yemisi Opalola said that the woman is suspected to be of unsound mind.
