One Arise Ikuesan, 45, a Landlord was killed by a scavenger identified as Basiru Ibrahim, 39 for preventing him from picking scraps from his compound in Ondo State.
The suspect, Basiru was arrested by the Ondo State police after committing the crime on Monday, September 13 in Ore, the headquaters of Odigbo Local Government Area of the State.
The Landlord was said to have died from an injury he sustained from an Iron rod the suspect used in hitting him on his forehead which he had prevented him from carrying from his compound.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Funmi Odulami who confirmed the incident said the landlord was attacked for trying to stop the scavenger from picking scraps in his compound.
The suspect has been charged to court for prosecution.
