The Socio-Economic Right And Accountability Projects, SERAP has said that it will sue President Buhari and his administration for suspending of twitter in Nigeria.
“We’re suing Nigerian authorities over their ILLEGAL indefinite suspension of Twitter in Nigeria.”, SERAP said.
In a tweet on Friday evening, SERAP referred to the suspension as illegal, adding that Nigerians has a right to freedom of expression and right to access information.
“Nigerians have a right to freedom of expression and access to information including online, and we plan to fight to keep it that way.”
“@NigeriaGov, we’ll see you in court.”
This is coming after the Federal Government banned twitter operations in Nigeria which has raised a lot of reactions from Nigerians.
Apparently, the announcement was made via the same twitter handle of the ‘Federal Ministry Of Information And Culture.
